For over 30 years, Breakspear Medical has been successfully treating patients suffering from allergy & environmental illness.
As a registered day patient unit, we offer private medical care for people of all ages with a broad range of illnesses and conditions. We provide progressive, effective and diversified modalities of treatment not generally available elsewhere. On-going care is lead by our fully qualified medical team and supported by technical and administrative staff as part of each patient’s treatment programme.
Our opening hours
We are open 9:00 – 5:00 Monday to Friday, excluding public bank holidays at our facilities, which are located in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England HP2 4FD. (Note: from 6 April 2020, the clinic will be closed on Saturdays until further notice.)
How to book an appointment
Consultations with doctors are conducted Monday to Friday and service for allergy treatments and immunisations are performed Monday to Saturday. Note: some patient services are limited on Saturdays.
Because Breakspear Medical is a private clinic, we are open to everyone. You can make an appointment directly by telephoning +44(0)1442 261 333 or you can request a referral from your GP or from your private physician.
Each patient has special needs and requires case-specific examinations, tests, treatments and follow-up programmes. After your initial consultation, a treatment programme will be drawn up on the patient management sheet and the Patient Liaison will then explain the costs involved and your course of action, which will be agreed prior to treatment commencing.

As Breakspear Medical is a private health clinic, our contract is with you, the patient, and we expect you to settle our accounts on receipt of invoice.
The simplest way to settle your bill is to provide us with your credit/debit card details when you arrive for your appointment (please note: we do not accept cheques or American Express). Fee consent forms have to be completed and signed by every patient, or the party taking responsibility for covering the costs of the patient’s treatment before the costs are incurred. You will receive a detailed invoice soon after your visit and your card will then be charged. Queries regarding any charges will be resolved with you forthwith.
For patients attending for longer periods, we will raise invoices at regular intervals and charge accordingly. If you do not provide us with your credit/debit card details you will be expected to pay your entire bill before you leave, and if you are attending for longer courses of treatment, 50% of the estimated cost must be paid in advance, the balance to be settled before you leave.
Insurance company funding
Insurance company funding must be claimed by the patient individually and Breakspear Medical will expect payment on receipt of invoice by the patient, regardless of agreement to pay by insurers.
