Caring for our environmentally-sensitive patients is our top priority.

As Breakspear Medical’s clinic is a day patient unit, out-of-town patients receiving treatment may wish to stay overnight in the Hemel Hempstead area.

We currently offer two shared apartments and a one-bedroom apartment for short-term let to patients and their companions (minimum stay of two nights).

If there is not a room available for the dates that you wish to have treatment at Breakspear Medical, we can give you the contact details of other local, alternative accommodations, some of which offer a discount to our patients.

About our apartments

Great care has been taken when decorating and furnishing these apartments, which includes using products that help screen electromagnetic fields, and they are maintained scent-free.

There are two shared apartments and one 1-bedroom apartment.

Our apartments are all in the same multi-occupancy building and are located a short walk from the clinic, local shops, cafes and restaurants. Because the apartments are so near to the clinic, transport is not provided and, if needed, it is your responsibility to organise your transport. The walk is less than three minutes (about 200 walking steps door to door).

The scent-free policy that we adhere to at the clinic also applies to the apartments.  All guests must refrain from using any scented products while staying at the apartments or smoking anywhere in the apartments or on the balconies.

If you require assistance with the activities of daily living, you must arrange for a carer to stay with you (additional accommodation fees will apply).  There is no nursing or medical care provided at the apartments.

Note: all guests must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Bookings are subject to availability and can be arranged through Reception +44(0)1442 261 333.

Shared apartments

There are two bedrooms available to let in each of the two shared apartments, which are located on the second and third floors and are accessible by lifts or stairs.

The apartments each have a master bedroom and a single bedroom. The master bedroom has two single metal-frame beds with a built-in wardrobe and an ensuite shower and WC. The single bedroom has a single metal-frame bed, open metal wardrobe and dedicated use of the main bathroom.

The sitting room, which has a large screen television, kitchen and dining area are shared areas. Most of the furniture is specially selected second-hand (not brand new), as it has been outgassed for years.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a refrigerator, small freezer, cooker, and microwave and there are plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils to make preparing all your own meals easy with the ingredients you provide. If you wish to order prepared evening and weekend meals from the clinic’s kitchen staff, you may do so at the clinic and these meals are charged separately. (Please note: there are no foods or condiments provided at the apartments.)

One-bedroom apartment

There is also a one-bedroom apartment available to let, which is located on the first floor and is accessible by lifts or stairs. (Maximum two occupants in this apartment.)

This apartment offers a double bedroom, which has two single metal-frame beds and a built-in wardrobe, an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a television and a spacious bathroom which has a bath with shower. The kitchen is fully fitted with a refrigerator, small freezer, stove, washing machine and microwave. There are plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils to make preparing your own meals easy. If you wish to order prepared evening and weekend meals from the clinic’s kitchen staff, you may do so at the clinic and these meals are charged separately.  (Please note: there are no foods or condiments provided at the apartments.)
